Article System Profits

I am trying to submit my own article on Wikipedia. All it will allow me to do is edit other articles and then that gets deleted anyway. I am staying w/ in the guidelines and definetely am not writing anything innaproriate. Does anyone have any advice for me?

If I add the same article to more directories will I get penalized from the search engines?
